Since I don't so much have a life of my own, I find it helpful to live through the lives of others. Okay, so that's a bit much. Maybe it'd be better to say that I like to read.
Generally the people I meet between the pages of a book are far better company than the people I meet in the world. Yes, there are some notable exceptions, and I've mentioned many of them here, but good literature brings us many things, not the least of which is learning from the mistakes and success of others, even if those people often are not real people.
But who's to say what makes real any more?
Regardless, a colleague at work left me with a good recommendation for my next read, and I've already cued it on my Kindle. This one is not fiction, but from reading the cover, I suspect the author is telling the story of my life, or at least a miserable part of it. This should be fun, and I'm looking forward to laughing at my self and the author. More the former than the latter.
